The textures from Cosette's cotton woods shirtwaist dress ported to Trapping & Kayleigh's boots, flats, and sneakers edits of Amaryll's alpha-editable Alice dress. Also, the textures from Cosette's cotton woods "skirt suit" trasferred to the boots and flats versions of the mesh. (My plan was to keep the flats version in my game, but Trapping's boots + Cosette's textures = OTP!)

When I saw Cosette's lovely GoS secret santa for Charterzard, my first thought wasn't "I need to transfer those textures to io's teen conversion of Amaryll's Tuula skirt, like I have so many times before." Instead, it was "I need untucked versions of the patterned skirts NOW!" I wanted this:

sims,downloads,cnp

While I was wrestling about with alphas and shadows, I untucked the solids as well.

Of course, AFTER that, I had to transfer the textures, both tucked and untucked, to io's teen version of the skirt. And, so I could do the exact same outfit for teens, I also had to transfer Needlecream's retexture of bunheadbuns' romantic blouse to a teen mesh.

and...oph3lia for editing the mesh on simal10's TF alpha top.

I've always loved nofrills' Simple Structure Dining Table (T$R link), based on the base game's Simple Structure coffee table. I just wish it were repositoried, so it would pick up Ja's recolors of the coffee table.

Nofrills Table repositoried

Now it is.

Explanation: A repositoried, slaved, or texture-referencing object gets its textures (recolors) from a different, "master" object. In this case, any recolors of the base game Simple Structure coffee table are now available to nofrills' dining table.

Warning: if you have nofrills' original in your Downloads folder, you must remove it before adding this modified version.

Credits: nofrills for the mesh, IgnorantBliss at MTS for the tutorial on creating repositoried objects, and ja for the recolors that inspired me to get off my butt and do something.

hellokomrade at GoS requested a combined version of plasticbox's three neighborhoods, and since it seemed like the ultimate copypasta project, I thought...why not?

sims,downloads,cnp

Created in a clean AGS environment. Requires NL, OFB and Seasons. I used Elsewhere as the base and added Baskerville and Middleground as shopping districts. Elsewhere has been renumbered from N515 to N542 so this combined version will not conflict with pb's original version. You can have both in your game at the same time.

I added pb's Swimmable Lake and 4 Seaside Street to Middleground and included their cc in the middleground_customcontent folder.

To install: extract the contents of the rar file. You should see two folders: Downloads and N542. Place the three folders from the Downloads folder into your game's Downloads folder. Place the entire N542 folder in My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Neighborhoods.

CREDITS: All credit goes to plasticbox. Not only for the hoods, but for providing clear instructions on the method to join them (see post #47 in the comments thread on Elsewhere). If you download and use the megabox and want to express your appreciation, please click the Thanks button on the downloads for Baskerville, Middleground, and Elsewhere at MTS.

I love the bodice on Xandher's Claudelle tunic tops, but tunics can't layer under bottom dresses. So I flattened 'em onto HP's untucked top mesh. But the flattened tunic kind of bothered me, so then I experimented with cropping them into something like a bandeau with straps (?!) or an oversized bra. The result is...well, I'm keeping them in my game. How odd.

Of course, I'm super-indecisive, so I put the cropped version on both HP's untucked top (natural waist) and a Tantra mesh (hourglass waist).

I swear I tried to do an in-game photoshoot for this upload, but the ladies were not cooperating:

Sentate's beach dress on a bottom-only mesh. Bodyshop alert! )

Next, the textures from Cosette's "Our City" cardigans transferred to Amaryll's edited version of her own cardigan mesh. Why? Because the original cardigan mesh didn't play nice with bottom dresses:

After I picked up io's teen conversion of Amaryll's Tuula skirt and An_na's entirely awesome tf shorts, I realized I didn't have enough tops, so I started age-converting. These are Flinn's Mimi cardigans (booty link) and jessi's "hollow kind of sound" recolors on Migamoo's untucked teen top.

19 recolors, Migamoo's mesh included for convenience. Offered in two flavors: regular recolors or texture-referencing files that require the adult originals be in your Downloads folder. You only need one!

I am so in love with Trapping & Kayleigh's edit of Amaryll's charming Alice alpha mesh that I actually attempted recolors. (I never imagined I would drift from shameless technical thief to clumsy creative thief. This is true love, people.) I use Amaryll's original solids in my game to evoke a certain simplicity (the white makes a stunning "homespun" wedding gown), but I wanted patterns and vibrant colors so my more sophisticated Sims could wear this lovely dress with its sweet preg morph.

click for more pics demonstrating my indecisiveness )

This is my first attempt at recoloring. If you have feedback, don't hesitate to speak up. Tips for reducing pixelation (particularly in the darker colors)? I'd love to hear 'em. Advice on creating seamless joins? I'm all ears.

More Nilou texture transfers onto iosaur's af-to-tf conversion of Amaryll's Tuula skirt. This time, I took Pixelcat's colors fade away (using Nilou's original textures and colors) and varied the shoe colors a bit.

When I saw iosaur's af-to-tf conversion of Amaryll's gorgeous Tuula skirt, I knew I had to apply Needlecream's retexture of the af skirts using Nilou's textures. Even though it's a straight-up bit of copy-and-paste thievery, I decided to share because people shouldn't be wasting their own time copying and pasting when they could be creating or playing.
