the alice project

I am so in love with Trapping & Kayleigh's edit of Amaryll's charming Alice alpha mesh that I actually attempted recolors. (I never imagined I would drift from shameless technical thief to clumsy creative thief. This is true love, people.) I use Amaryll's original solids in my game to evoke a certain simplicity (the white makes a stunning "homespun" wedding gown), but I wanted patterns and vibrant colors so my more sophisticated Sims could wear this lovely dress with its sweet preg morph.

This is my first attempt at recoloring. If you have feedback, don't hesitate to speak up. Tips for reducing pixelation (particularly in the darker colors)? I'd love to hear 'em. Advice on creating seamless joins? I'm all ears.
25 recolors using 14 patterns from colourlovers.com. Swatch (incomplete! argh!):

Date: 2010-08-29 08:29 am (UTC)I just sometimes think it would be fun if you and 'paro took up this game because you're such creative types it would be interesting to see what you would make for your own game. But I'll get over it. Also, it makes me feel less guilty about not fangirling the Fujimi posts like I would have 10 years ago. Oy, time. Also, oy, small novel.
