I'm making my third run at the Uberhood, this time replacing HP's with Tarlia's ([livejournal.com profile] meetme2theriver) and adding Inteen on top of ACR. All week, I lived in delicious anticipation of starting the game, carefully selecting my default skins and eyes and reading up on Inteen (which I've never used before). Then I started the game and had to...well, do all the same things I've done twice before.

I imagine most people start the merged hoods exactly the same way: placing the bin families in their lots, furnishing those lots, possibly making over the residents. And while I'm doing all this, my Sims are socializing with each other and their welcome wagon. (This time, because I have ACR installed, they are also woohooing and getting pregnant, darnit.) Next time I play an uberhood -- and of course there will be a next time -- I am dropping the bin families in their respective lots, placing a telephone in each lot, and exiting before they can meet anyone. Then I will archive that game and it will become my uberbase, freeing me to start with any family the next time I get an uber-urge. But that's next time. For now, the Travellers won't be doing much travelling, thanks to their little ACR surprise. And once I drop the Oldies in 95 Woodland Drive, I'll be ready to play.

With the exception of the default skins and eyes, I'm playing straight-up Maxis. I already desperately miss the various Maxis recolors and Maxis-match items from NoFrills, Piggis, and HugeLunatic. Or, to be more accurate, I am constantly surprised when I go looking for an item in the catalog (like NoFrills' simple structure dining table) only to remember that it's cc. This is mostly a good thing. I want to relearn the EAxis content. But I also want single-tile desks!
